I wrote these words to myself today:

  • I want an experience of spirituality and god that doesn’t compromise my intellect or intelligence, my sophistication or sense of humor, my love for provocative, open-minded conversation and/or relationship.
  • I want an experience of spirituality and god that isn’t bound in patriarchy nor requires that I live within boundaries, dogma, or (unspoken) rules.
  • I want an experience of spirituality and god that dwells in and is strengthened by stories of women that are not bound in sin, shame, or silence; that invite me to ever-larger and amazing experiences of self, voice, life, and love.
  • I want an experience of spirituality and god that offers meaning, hope, and an abiding awareness that I’m not alone.
  • I want an experience of spirituality and god that is unlike anything I’ve ever known.

Is this too much to ask?

I’ve decided it’s not. I’ve also decided that because I want it, you might as well; and that I might just be am the one to find it, speak it, live it, and offer it to you.

Do you want what I want?
